Snowshoeing is a great way to get out in the winter and enjoy the beautiful area in which we live. One of the great things about snowshoeing is that all you need is a snow covered hiking trail! Just make sure that you don't get lost as most hiking trails aren't marked for snowshoeing. Also, be aware of where you are walking. It's bad form to walk in a cross-country ski track.

On this site, we have compiled information on several local snowshoeing areas. Below is a map of trailheads for snowshoeing areas around Ashland, Oregon. Just hover your mouse over the little snowshoeing people on the map to get an info window for that area. Click anywhere on the map to close the info window. Want to know more about an area? Each area has its own, detailed page. Just click "more info" in the info window after mousing over the area!

Make sure to check out the Day Hiking page as well! If there is snow on the trail and the road is clear, these can make fun snowshoe paths.

Have a certain snowshoe area in mind, but don't see it here? Let us know! For questions and more information about snowshoeing and snowshoe trails in the area, visit our forum or come by the store and talk with our knowledgeable staff. Also, the Ashland Outdoor Store rents and sales snowshoes! Click here to check out our rental department.

Don't forget that snowsheing is inherently dangerous. Please be sure to take all proper precautions and safety measures. Make sure to let someone know where you are going and when to expect you back. Check the weather before you go. Also, bring emergency gear, layers, and a first aid kit!
